Reception

PE games time!

Defending and Attacking! Can we run past the dragons to get the treasure? We are learning tactics that help us dodge, find spaces and score points as a team. We love playing this game and it's even better in the larger spaces outside!

Reception gymnastics Group 3

Reception gymnastics Group 2

We are learning to create controlled shapes with our bodies, just like a gymnast. What sort of shapes can you see? This was our first session and we know that watching the shapes our friends make will help us learn new ways to move too.

Reception gymnastics Group 1

We are learning to create controlled shapes with our bodies, just like a gymnast. What sort of shapes can you see? This was our first session and we know that watching the shapes our friends make will help us learn new ways to move too.

Making Neuron Connections!

Mrs Shaw worked with us today and taught us that our brain cells make connections every time we learn something new. We have made this display in the classroom with our neuron pictures. We are learning that 'practise, practise, practise' makes the connections grow bigger and stronger!

Funny Bones!

Here some of us are telling our own Funny Bones story! We even have figures!

Year 1

Running Riot!

In PE we have been getting so out of breath playing lots of invasion games. We have improved our special awareness and dodging!

Tea and Coffee!

Here are some of the rhythms that we created ourselves. Can you hear our long and short beats?

Rhythm Creators!

In music with Miss Keightley this week, we have been creating our own rhythms- and even writing them with music notes! The notes we used are called a crotchet and quaver. We started to remember them by clapping tea for a long note, and cof-fee for 2 short notes. Our performances were very impressive.

Banging Beats!

Mr Ashton made some beats on his drum for us to copy. We had to make sure we listened to the number of beats in his rhythm, and the pace that he was playing at. We tried to play his beats back to him using our drums and maracas.

Dancing Divas!

In Music this week, Mr Ashton asked us to dance along to some rhythms. We had to make sure we kept to the beat and were moving in time with the music. We busted out some very funky moves.

Connection Chaos!

Mrs Shaw came and spoke to us this week about our Neurons making connections in our brains! We make millions every second! Whenever we learn something new our brains make new connections and it is these that make our brains grow!
